Power of Six Realms is a service given to you by Asura in the Living Room. As such, it requires beating the game at least once.

When entering the menu, you will see an image of Asurendra with a circle next to each of his six arms. After Power of Six Realms has been unlocked, bosses will now occasionally drop Power Orbs upon death on difficulties higher than Normal. Every Power Orb can be used to upgrade one of the six Realms. By tapping one of the Realms on the menu, Asurendra’s chest gem will become that Realm’s icon, and this is now the active Realm for that character. Tapping Asurendra’s chest gem causes the Realm to be deselected. Tapping on the Realm you’re already using will open up a second menu, showing the Realm’s icon and four circles around it. You will see two bars, one with Common Powers and a second with Rare Powers. Common Powers can be put into any of the circular slots except for the one on the top of the circle that looks more ornate, and Rare Powers can only be put in the special slot. To unlock each slot, it is required to have at least 10, 20, 30 and 50 Power of Asura points available to your account, for the first, second, third and fourth slots respectively. Powers cannot be removed from these slots. Since you can only place Powers in slots if the previous slot has been occupied, this means that you’ll only be able to equip Rare Powers once you have at least three Common ones, unlocking the special slot at the top. You can place Powers on the same slot as other Powers to replace the first power with the second, in which case the first power will return to the Powers bar and can be reequipped later.

Meyer

Meyer is an NPC in Otherworld Legends that gives you a special service. His room is indicated by a black exclamation mark in the middle of a red background.

Meyer’s room only appears in the first scene of every biome as long as the difficulty is set to Hard or higher, for the purpose of giving the player trials. When talking to Meyer, if you select the option that says «Accept the trial», three scrolls will appear around him. These are the trials the player is able to choose from. Once the player picks a trial, the other two will disappear, and the one they picked will be kept in their Inventory. If the player is taking part in a trial already, they will not be able to get a second one from Meyer until the first is completed.

These trials will add a challenge to playing the game. They last for 10 enemy rooms, and you can see how many rooms are left through your Inventory screen, aside from the little icon that will pop up when every room is completed when the player is part of a trial. Skipping rooms with invisibility (Ninja Cloak or Optical Camouflage) does not count as a completion: the enemies must be killed for the room to count as completed. Once all the rooms have been completed, the scroll will disappear and a unique item will appear on the floor wherever the player was when the room ended.

Aside from these trials, there are also extreme trials that last for only 1 room.

It is still possible to pick a Meyer trial if you already own the item it gives, in which case you won’t be able to pick the second item up once it spawns.

Characters

Characters (or heroes) are the fighters that the player can control and take into battle in Otherworld Legends. Every character has a set of six stats:

Many items and buffs of all sorts will increase the player’s stats. In the case that they do, they will do so by giving the player a percentage of their base stats on top of their current stats. These base stats are the character’s default stats when sitting in the Living Room with no Power of Asura or drinks, completely vanilla, but can be increased by weapons and drinks, effectively making stat-boosting items stronger.

Characters also have a set of three or four different skills and three skill styles for every skill that they can choose from, all of which are unique to that character and cannot be used by others. At the start of every run, they must select one of their skills and one skill style for it, which they will take into the game. They can change that skill mid-game by using their Inventory. Except for few exceptions, characters can only aim left or right.

Every character has an EXP bar, which fills up the more they fight in the mirage world. When a character levels up, they unlock more privileges: at level 3, they unlock the ability to speak to Khan in the Living Room to select a second skill known as your secondary skill, which does not benefit from skill styles and cannot be changed while in the game. Leveling up a character’s becomes useless after level 3 unless if you want the achievement unlocked when maxing out a character’s level bar.

All characters are targeted by the enemies in every room, which they must take out to progress. Enemies can damage the player by attacking them, depleting their health or shield. Characters also target nearby enemies, signified by an orange square reticle beneath the target. Most characters will dash forwards towards the target with the first hit of their default attack, allowing them to hit enemies easily.

Characters can collect items and weapons to help them out in their adventure through Asurendra’s mirage world, which they can store in their Inventory. These can be very helpful to complete a run, whether they help by increasing the player’s damage or by shooting fireballs with every punch.

Iblis

Iblis is the boss found at the end of the Moonlight Mahal scene. He appears to be a desert king that has several minions that help him, due to the magic lantern and the genie inside it.

Iblis has a lot of health bars, but he takes twice the damage he usually would from all sources, so this apparently insanely tanky boss unit doesn’t take as many hits to take out as it seems. Iblis cannot attack for himself. Instead, he summons minions to do the fighting for him while he runs around the room trying to escape the player. He can summon one of two minons every time:

Iblis can summon multiple minions if he’s low on health, and after summoning his minions, he gains a golden shield around him, granting him damage immunity and unflinching, although he will still take damage from damage-dealing debuffs. If one of his minions is killed, the invincibility ends immediately. The minion will also drop a coin worth 1 Gold. If there are any coins on the ground, Iblis will walk up to them and pick them up, so the minion-dropped coins are a good method of baiting him in. After his shield is gone, you can punch him a bit as long as you can catch him, then after a set amount of time his shield will come back and he will summon more minions.

There is a golden statue of Iblis in the center of the room. This golden statue is what provides Iblis with some of his powers. The statue has low health, but has brutal damage reduction to it that makes it only take 1 damage from most hits, and is immune to all debuffs. When the statue is beneath 50% health, Iblis is no longer fully immune when shielded and will take very small amounts of damage from stronger attacks. If you destroy this statue, Iblis no longer gets invincibility after summoning minions, but he grows larger and summons more minions. The statue’s fragments are left on the ground and serve as pushable objects. It is important to remember this since they might hinder your mobility when trying to fight Iblis. Destroying the statue is a trade-off that might be worth taking, since, despite Iblis’s minions are now more numerous and thus more lethal, you can now hunt down Iblis without having to defeat any minions first. When you defeat the boss, the exit does not appear if this statue has not been broken.

This boss can be rather easy or very difficult, depending on your items and playstyle. Overall, you have two main options to beat the boss: either play by the rules and get rid of the minions one by one before focusing on the boss, or do a blitz attack right upon entering the room by destroying the statue, then running up to Iblis and hitting him nonstop, ignoring his minions completely until the boss is defeated. However, if your items excel in neither of these two aspects, some minions will probably survive until after Iblis summons more, meaning you’ll get swarmed by angry attackers and lose due to sheer numbers.

Beating this boss has a reward: after Iblis dies, his lamp will be exposed. You must touch that lamp before you leave the room. This causes a genie to appear from the lamp, congratulate you on the win, and ask you your wish, whether it’s power, wealth or three wishes. Trying to get three wishes means the genie will simply say no and tell you to choose again, but if you insist on getting three wishes he will give up and give you the Three Wishes item, exclusive to this bossfight. If you choose wealth, coins shower you and reward you with a random total of Gold, the average amount being around 150. If you choose power, five items spawn on the ground. After picking up one of these items, the rest disappear. When you’re done with your wish, you can leave the room.

Real Mirage

Already an annoying boss, Real Mirage takes Iblis’s annoyance to a whole new level. Now, you have to deal with more than twice the minions, deal a lot more than three times the damage to Iblis, all while he belly flops you to waste your precious chance of dealing damage.

This fight will be very hard without enough damage and survivability, as avoiding damage will be incredibly hard while the screen is filled with the purple minions throwing projectiles at you, more so if you break the statue.
