Every 1000 years, gods of every pantheon convene and hold a conference to decide the fate of humanity by calling a vote to determine whether or not the human race should continue living or go extinct. With the most recent of these conferences having concluded, the gods unanimously decided to put humanity to an end. However, at the very last second, the eldest of the Valkyries, accompanied by the youngest, intervened and made the bold proposition to let humanity have a say in their fate by letting them go against the gods in a series of one-on-one fights to see if they are worthy of continuing to exist. Afraid to let go of their pride, the gods accept this proposal. Thirteen gods will fight against thirteen human champions. The first side to reach seven victories will decide humanity’s fate.

Gods are one of the existing species in the world of Shuumatsu no Valkyrie. They are the creators of Humanity and decide the fate of the world.

Overview [ ]

Most gods can be found within Heaven, with a few notable exceptions, such as Hades the ruler of Hell.

Gods have a very humanoid appearance, being very similar to that of a human. However some also have been shown to possess non human traits, such as extra limbs or eyes.

Origins and History [ ]

The origin of the Gods are currently unknown, but what is known is that at some point the Titanomachy tournament occurred, in which gods fought against titans. The Gods were victorious and Zeus became their leader after killing his father, Kronos.

Culture [ ]

While the intricacies of their culture are unknown, what is known is that the Gods focus and pay respect to strength. For instance, Shiva became the leader of the Hindu pantheon by challenging and defeating all the other Hindu gods in battle.

Another example can be seen with Zeus who, despite being the youngest of his brothers, became the king of Olympus after defeating Kronos, who was the strongest titan.

Every 1000 years the gods gather in a council to vote on whether or not humanity should continue existing.

Demigods [ ]

Demigods are half god and half human deities. The difference between a demigod and a full god is very unclear. A demigod is not a human who became a god, since Buddha is considered a full god (despite being born as a human). Demigods are also not necessarily weaker than full gods, since Heracles is more powerful then most gods, despite being a demigod. The common characteristic among all Demigods and what seems to separate them from the gods is their deep connection with humanity.

Powers & Abilities [ ]

Divine Physiology: Most Gods have physical abilities far greater than most humans. They are also immune to all attacks with manmade weapons, however, they can still be harmed by divine weapons and by unarmed attacks from individuals with superhuman strength. Some gods also have supernatural abilities, such as Thor’s electrokinesis or Zerofuku’s misfortune manipulation.

Semi-Immortality: Gods seem to be incapable of dying due to old age. They also appear to be mostly immune to the effects of time, aging slower than humans or not aging entirely. However, they can still be killed by other means.

Divine Weapon creation: Gods have the ability to forge divine weapons. These weapons are superior to any man made weapons and are one of the main reasons for the gods’ tremendous power over humanity.

Сначала отступление. Если не ошибаюсь, это уже 3-е бойцовское аниме из-под крыла Нетфликса. Первым было возвращение Baki, затем Kengan Ashura и теперь Shuumatsu no Walkure. Во всех трех вижу схожую закономерность, но в Рагнароке это особенно выделилось: представители Нетфликса будто говорят анимационной группе, чтобы они снимали бои с таким темпом, как это делают в сотых-двухсотых сериях бесконечных сёненов, то есть как можно медленнее и неторопливее, чтобы процесс съемок можно было продлить на как можно большее количество сезонов. Уверен, если бы они добавили в эти 12-ть серий 4-й раунд, это только бы положительно повлияло на всё и сразу.

Боги. Людей, впрочем, поместим в ту же категорию характеров. В качестве представителей обеих сторон — легендарных воителей, полководцев, человеческих кумиров ака богов, и прочих элит нашей истории — увидел высокомерное, вспыльчивое и неуравновешенное быдло. Допустим ладно, пускай Шива две тысячи лет назад вел себя как японский гопник, но за две тысячи лет у него не произошло никаких корректировок в характере, в то время как некоторым людям для саморефлексии и смены вектора достаточно всего пары лет? Кому-то требуется половина человеческой жизни, но 2000 лет? Скажу честно, не хотелось бы мне таких кумиров или руководителей. Время в тайтле линейное, как смог понять, и время турнира соответствует времени созданию манги — он в условном 2017 г., потому как на арену призывают только героев более ранних эпох (новейший из 20 века).

На трибунах по обе стороны как богов так и людей тоже сидят, как бы выразиться, аналоги фанатов футбола или реслинга :). Хотят хлеба и зрелищ, рыдают (как от горя, так и от счастья), льют нечистотами представителей оппонента. У всей массовки, разом, перехватывает дыхание, когда происходит очередной твист на арене и инициатива переходит в руки оппонента. Полагаю, все 13 схваток эта схема так и будет повторяться по 3 раза на бой :). Порадовались, попугались, опять порадовались и назвали команду противника лопухами, которые не разбираются в матчасти.

Впечатления по результатам поединков. Расстроен финалом боя Адама. Еще не зная толком о сюжете тайтла сразу понял, что это имба. И как бы его противника не вытягивали в более выгодном свете, я не согласен с результатом боя. Не согласен также с результатом 3-го боя. В 12-й серии один из бойцов буквально «пробивает собой дно» :), и мне показалось, это описывает его дальнейшую победу. Его противник просто вел себя максимально аморфно, будто бы специально ради контраста с представителем своей стороны из 2-го боя. Возможности арены также не были задействованы, а я сразу начал крутить в голове как она будет использоваться против человеческой стороны.

Глупо, карикатурно смешно и настолько же пафосно — 6/10.

Humans are one of the existing species in the world of Shuumatsu no Valkyrie.

Overview [ ]

Humans are native to Midgard and can be usually be found there. However, since the souls of the dead are brought to Valhalla by the Valkyries, they can also be found within Heaven. Humans can also be send to Hell if they break the laws of the gods, being Nostradamus the only human to ever be send to Helheim, for the crime of nearly destroying the Bifrost.

As beings created in the image of the gods, humans have a very similar appearance to their creators.

Origins and History [ ]

The current details of humanity’s origins are not explicit, but at one point (about 7.000.000 years before Ragnarok) in the Land of the Gods, one deity created two beings in his image to populate the Earth and rule over the animals, whom he named Adam and Eve. Sometime after this, a demon framed Eve as revenge for turning down his advances. In court, he falsely accused her of eating fruit from the Tree of Knowledge. Eve was ruled guilty and banished from the Garden of Eden, and Adam decided to go with her. After leaving heaven and going to Earth, Adam and Eve would live there and have many children, such as Cain and Abel.

From that point on, humanity’s history is almost identical to what is known in real life from historical science, as well as from various myths and religions.

Culture [ ]

Humanity’s culture is identical to real life, varying greatly depending on the location and time period.

Powers & Abilities [ ]

Golden Age: Once a human soul arrives at the afterlife, they will have the appearance that they had during their golden age: the age in which they were at their peak. This usually results in most human souls permanently having a youthful appearance and a healthy body.

Superhuman Physiology: Whilst most humans have very inferior physical abilities when compared to those of a god, some exceptional individuals have the power to compete against their creators. Some humans also have unique abilities, either through divine intervention (like Adam), through a rare medical condition (like Raiden) or through other methods.

Ascension to Godhood [ ]

It is possible for a human to become a god. This can be done through a variety of methods, such as drinking Ambrosia (like Heracles) or by reaching enlightenment (like Buddha).

Heracles is the Gods’ representative in the fourth round of Ragnarok, going against Jack the Ripper.

Heracles is a prominent deity in the Greek Pantheon, being the God of Fortitude. He is also one of the few divine beings, along with Buddha and the Valkyries, who are not in favor of ending Humanity. Heracles was formerly a human by the name of «Alcides» hailing from Ancient Greece and ascended to godhood by drinking the Ambrosia.

Appearance [ ]

Heracles takes the form of a tall muscular man with long spiky orange hair. He wears a right shoulder guard and archery chest protector. His left arm has an ornate golden armband that covers his biceps. He also wears a lion fur kilt, a championship belt and simple leather sandals. He has a red tattoo of unknown design that goes across his torso from his right shoulder to the lower left side of his abdomen. His eyes are blue.

Personality [ ]

Heracles is a very just individual, considered the most righteous being among the gods, accentuated through his actions, ideology, judgement and his opposition to ending Humanity. Heracles is a person of honor and dignity as well, saying that despite not supporting the destruction of Humanity, he would still do his best in his round in Ragnarok. [1] He also admires those he views strong in his eyes, even if its someone he detests like Jack the Ripper. [2]

A true warrior, Heracles embraces combat in all its forms, and relishes in the heart of battle.

Heracles also feels universal and indomitable love and altruism towards all humans as he said no matter how sinful humans are, he will save them no matter what, which he tried to do for even his opponent, Jack the Ripper. He never abandoned his principles of honor and love no matter what hardships he faced. During the last moments of his life, instead of ending his match with a mutual kill, he hugged Jack with his remaining strength.

Abilities [ ]

Divine Physiology: As a Demigod, Heracles posses physical abilities far greater than any ordinary human. His body can not be harmed by mortal weapons, however he can still be harmed by unarmed attacks from individuals with superhuman strength and divine weapons.

Semi-Immortality: Due to drinking Ambrosia, Heracles possess an eternal body and is incapable of dying due to old age. He shows no signs of old age, despite being over 4000 years old.

Godly Strength: After drinking Ambrosia and surviving, Heracles gained a caliber of strength on Zeus’ level, defeating Ares’s army, the Vanguard of the Gods [3] and fought toe to toe with Ares, [4] which even made the War God admit that he would’ve died if Zeus hadn’t intervened. In his fight against Jack the Ripper, he cracked the entire ground by simply leaping, [5] smashing Jack’s giant scissor effortlessly, [6] and creating a gigantic crater in the ground by punching it. [7]

Godly Endurance: As the God of Fortitude, Heracles possesses the most endurance of any god, to a nigh-limitless level. Even before he became a god, Heracles was able to survive a kick to the face from Ares, remaining unfazed from it. [8] After becoming a demigod, he was able to continue fighting Ares and his army despite sustaining significant wounds and injuries. [4] In the battle with Jack, even after being stabbed by countless knives, [9] [10] having his left arm cut off, [11] and having a divine building crash down on him, he still continued to fight. Furthermore, when activating «Herculean Exodus», a millimeter of the tattoo growth that results from it will cause even a natural god to feel immense and sharp pain, which in Heracles’ case, grew immensely. Despite that, Heracles didn’t even flinch, remaining calm. [12]

Indomitable Will: Heracles possessed a righteous soul and strong will even before he became a god. Even as a child, Heracles never gave into despair no matter how tough the situation was. He always fought at the vanguard and never backed down even if his opponent was a god. [13] He trained constantly since when he was a human, using hardships as a way to improve himself, in order to gain strength to protect the weak. [14] [15]

Club Proficiency: Heracles wields his divine club with godly skill and proficiency, as shown in his battle against Jack the Ripper, deflecting Jack’s barrage of knives effortlessly, [16] smashing Jack’s giant scissor into pieces effortlessly [6] and defeating the Vanguard of the Gods and Ares’s army. [3]

Techniques [ ]

Herculean Exodus: After finishing the 12 labors, Heracles was granted 12 divine techniques in exchange. Although these techniques are immensely powerful, each time he performed a technique, his tattoo would spread further across his body and cause an immense amount of pain. Should the tattoo spread across his whole body, he would die. [17]

	First Labor, Nemean Lion: [18] The head of Heracles’ club turns into a roaring lion, which he smashes into the ground with tremendous force, creating an enormous shockwave that sent Jack the Ripper flying backwards and dislocated his shoulder. [19]
	Sixth Labor, Birds of Stymphalia: [20] The head of Heracles’ club turns into a Stymphalian Bird and produces an extremely powerful gust of wind when swung, blowing away all of Jack the Ripper’s knives.
	Seventh Labor, Cretan Bull: [21] The head of Heracles’ club turns into a Cretan Bull, however, the effects of it are unknown.
	Twelfth Labor, Cerberus: [22] Heracles throws the club into the air and summons Cerberus to fuse with it. His hair grows to his lower back and he obtains characteristics of Cerberus such as sharp fangs, claws, fur (on his back), and a spiked collar. His tattoo becomes black and grows continuously, continuously draining his life force. [23] This technique provides a boost to his speed and power, as well as granting the ability to cut through objects from a distance of up to several meters, as if there were invisible giant claws attached to his hands. [24]

Great Hero Blow: [22] Heracles focuses his power in his right arm, enlarging it, and performs a powerful punch to his opponent with so much force it creates a gigantic crater. [7]

Equipment [ ]

Ambrosia: A red liquid that contains the blood of the god Zeus, the leader of the Greek Pantheon. Legend says that if consumed by a true Hero it would grant an eternal body. However, should anyone else drink from it, it would cause instant death. It was said that the hero Achilles gained his strength by drinking ambrosia. Alcides is another individual who drank ambrosia. After surviving the experience and being accepted as one of Zeus children, he became Heracles.

Club: A magical club that takes the form of a variety of animals, including a lion, an eagle, and a bull. Every time Heracles uses one of his 12 Labors techniques to change the form of his club, the tattoos on his body spread, bringing him closer to death.

Following the end of the fourth round of Ragnarok, the club was destroyed
