Приветствую всех любителей игр на сайте Helpix! В этом рассказе, как я и обещал, мы снова погрузимся в мир пиксельных игр, тем самым продолжив тянуть ту линию, начало которой было положено мной еще несколько рассказов назад.

Убежищ было всего несколько десятков по всей планете, но лишь единицы выдержали натиск, ведь даже толща земли и металла далеко не всегда может защитить от обнаружения. Некоторые использовали барьеры и силовые поля, турели с охраной и военных дронов, но прорвать такую оборону существам, превосходившим земную цивилизацию в несколько тысячелетий, оказалось довольно просто. Лишь люди с доступом к лучшим на момент агрессии технологиям смогли выжить; многотонные, в несколько километров шириной прочные конструкции, покрытые иллюзорными барьерами, смогли скрыть из виду тех немногочисленных людей, которые остались там выживать: генераторы, пищевые имитаторы и многое другое помогло поддерживать жизнь в нормальном русле годами, и лишь мысль о возможном обнаружении никак не давала расслабиться, а также внутренняя надежда на искоренение подлых захватчиков.

Спустя двадцать лет прогресс технологий внутри убежищ дал свои плоды: люди подготовили план отмщения! Началось полномасштабное строительство биокапсул посредством энергопринтера, которые послужили для выращивания генетически совершенных биомутантов; внешне это те же люди, за исключением увеличенного роста в два с половиной метра, усиленного обмена веществ и регенерации тканей, ну и, конечно же, огромной силы, позволяющей носить защитные доспехи и огромный энергобластер, питающийся от мини-генератора.

К началу событий первого уровня игры, было выявлено посредством сенсоров бурение земли прямо над подземным убежищем, которое скрывало их все эти годы и защищало! Обнаружение землян было спонтанным, но тем не менее ожидаемым, и когда гигантская башня, бур которой исходил прямо из пола, засекла приближение угрозы, то все существа, находящиеся там, встали на защите, ведь суперсолдаты смогли остановить бур и встать на защиту своего вида! Во время битвы один из них смог пробраться в башню и дать бой захватчикам изнутри, поднимаясь по башне все выше и выше. Сможет ли он победить? Сможет ли он подняться до самого верха, и что его там ждет? Ответ зависит от вас.

В игре огромное количество разных скинов, меняя их, можно представлять, что предыдущий солдат погиб, и в здание попал уже другой, а можете одним и тем же пройти до самого конца. Каждый скин обладает своей индивидуальностью, стоимостью, цветом; один имеет возможность получить целых 7 жизней, вместо трех, но при этом не получать никогда аптечек, другой же сможет получать удвоенные бонусы, но урон будет уменьшен. И таких вариантов огромное множество.

Каждый скин нужно покупать за игровую валюту, и чем интересней вариант, тем дороже. Загоняясь наперед, отмечу, что не все скины и их описания переведены на русский, причем от обновления к обновлению ситуация не улучшается.

Выбрав одного, вы тут же бросаетесь в бой на монстров разной формы и силы. Отмечу то, что многие жалуются на неудобное управление, но лично мне, на большом экране моего Z2 tablet, было весьма удобно играть, а большие «кнопки» внушали мысль, что я уж точно не промахнусь.

Если вас убьют, то вы начнете с самого начала, с самых низов. Но каждый раз уровень немного видоизменяется, и если активировать фантазию, то можно представить других солдат в других башнях. Сам игровой процесс до жути сложен (игроки обычно используют выражение «хардкор»), но при этом интересен и способен заполучить ваше внимание на долгие часы.


Ах да, в конце каждого уровня, вас ждет босс. Но его я вам не покажу, потому что хочется подогреть интерес и не раскрывать все карты, но это того стоит, уж поверьте.

Weapons are a core mechanic of Tower Fortress, giving the player various advantages depending on the situation. They are always found in chests throughout the levels, and have a limited amount of ammo each. Any newly picked-up weapon will replace the player’s current one until it runs out, at which point the player will go back to the default gun. Upgrades such as Gun Boost, Piercer and Overheat directly affect the gun’s properties and damage, while upgrades such as Killshot, Big Mags, Full Service and Reshaper affect the player’s ammo. Some suits such as Recoil, Mrs. T, Shotgun, McGee, Boomer, Seeker, Swordsman each have a unique default weapon.

Sara’s weapons have a few varying properties, which are listed in the table below:

Types of Weapons

Default

The default weapon in the game, that the player will always be reverted to if their current weapon runs out. It therefore is the simplest weapon, firing singular bullets in a straight line with a very short range. This weapon’s main drawback is that the fire button can’t be held down for multiple shots, forcing the player to spam the fire key in most situations.

The shotgun is a high-damage burst weapon that fires eight individual shots in front of the player in a cone shape. Because of its high coverage and ability to shoot through obstacles, this weapon allows the player to deal with many enemies at once. However, the longer than usual reload time and inability to hold the fire key for multiple shots can leave the player vulnerable in some cases. Though this weapon is very forgiving on player aim, it is important to be conservative with its low ammo.

The machine gun is beneficial for its very high firing speed and unlimited range, allowing the player to deal with enemies from afar. Each shot will be fired with a small randomised angle, which can make bullets land on obstacles such as floors before they reach enemies. This weapon is best used in mid-air, with a clear angle on targets to ease aiming.

The 3-way fires three shots at a 45° angle from one another, allowing the player to reach enemies above or bellow them from a safe spot. With its very high DpS, this weapon can deal with large crowds of enemies, through it is limited by its short range.

The flamethrower produces slow-travelling flames in front of the player that linger for a few seconds. Despite having one of the worst range in the game, this weapon can deal with most enemies and bosses quickly if the player can safely get close to them.

The laser shoots out a very long laser beam that can do a large amount of damage to most enemies. Since the beam travels across the screen without obstructions, it can be useful in killing multiple enemies that are placed together.

The T-gun, as the name implies, is a gun that shoots bullets in three directions, each at a 90° angle, in the shape of the letter ‘T’. While it acts similar to the machine gun, the T-gun has a medium range, and can be useful in shooting enemies that are above or below the player.

The Double Machine Gun acts similar to the machine gun, however it shoots two trail of bullets simultaneously. Although it does more damage, it has a limited range unlike the machine gun.

The Bubble Gun, as the name implies, shoots out bubbles that float upwards after being fired. While it does little damage, it can be fired continuously, and can be useful for shooting flying enemies from the ground.

The Magnum shoots out thick blue energy streaks, which deal less damage, but can be useful if the player is obscured by a wall and finds it difficult to shoot enemies.

The Homing fires a homing missile that locks-on to enemies far enough away. Each missile deals basic damage.

One of the Best of it’s kind

This platform/shooter is one of the most fun i’be ever played. It’s the perfect ballance of hard and fun, making it challenging, but still enjoyable. Im a huge fan of Nitrome’s games, and this adds to my favorites. Great artwork, great bgm, and great game play (that’s what we came to get, right?). Great job Nitrome, you’ve done it again. I would like to note two things: 1. I’m not entirely sure how the “tornado” weapon is to be used efficiently, since it doesn’t really do foreword damage, more just up. 2. The Spin Attack is very hard to utilize at times. In closer quarter battles with more enemies, the spin attack is the go-to way of getting rid of an enemy wave, as well as a healthy combo builder. But not if you get hit on your first jump and can’t get to the second, and it makes those close quarter battles a little frustrating. Now, I understand there’s a few upgrades to fix that, but since the upgrades at the end of the area are random, what are the odds you’ll get that one upgrade? This may just be my play style, but I would love a change or maybe advice on how to win those close quarter battles. Also, this is not necessary by any means, but you could possibly add a story. Why is this knight gunner climbing this tower fortress? Does s/he have something against the mobs? Anyway, it’s not necessary because it’s not really that kind of game (at least I don’t think), but it can certainly be an idea.

Great game, along with some ideas.

You know, this was a surprise to me. This game is pretty dang good. Easy controls and mechanics, along with some mix-ups here and there. Floors may get repetitive, but it makes it the easier to remember once played enough. And not many items, but enough to give variety in style of play. It also reminds me of Binding of Isaac, but instead you get to always choose in between three items. And here’s something. Maybe there could be a shield item implemented; the shield would work as a way to keep your combo going, allowing you to take one hit without having anything negative. This includes no animation for being hit. And at the top of the tower, an optional floor/boss you can only reach with the rocket boots, which would obviously give more of a challenge. Of course, optional, in case people just want to get it over with. But overall, great game.

Quite tricky but fun

Best Mobile game I’ve ever played

In all the years I’ve downloaded apps from the AppStore, I never once found one worthy of a review. This is the first. This wonderful piece has given hours of fun to pass the time, and I’m still hooked. It has a comfortable difficulty, and the retro 16-bit aesthetic. I love the upgrade system, which makes you work for the advantage, not empty the wallet. It’s easy to learn and pickup with the easy controls, but hard to master with the variety of ways you can maneuver the character. I also love the lack of micro transactions, which as stated before, makes you work for better suits. 5 stars, 10/10, whatever you want to call it, but I would recommend this game to anyone looking for one to pass the time.

It’s honestly pretty darn great.

A true game gem

I have seen a lot of negative reviews about the controls, or even how hard the enemies are- but after just a bit of playing, I can tell you that those reviews are wrong! Sure the controls are a bit small, but I don’t feel like they hinder anything! And the enemies are just right for the type of level layout! You can even make it through an entire level without getting hurt! (I know because I did earlier today! Lol) The progression of the game is genius- I love how you have to defeat enemies on the level to obtain a power up, and how you can’t go back down from points on the level. Even though you can purchase gems or ad free options, there are relatively few ads, and gems are readily available through playing the game! I love ftp games, so I really appreciate the devs keeping this free of necessary purchases! If you are still reading, here is my final thought- Get the game, and have fun 😉 Note to devs: thank y’all so much for keeping this fun AND free to play! It holds a valued spot in my App Library! 🙂

Dem English skills do. Anyway, Ie really love this game. It has a good variety of Enid’s and poweups. And I️ feel it could be improved by doing one simple thing: changing the control scheme. At the moment, it is extremely cramped, especially for someone with big thumbs. It may just be that I’m playing on an older generation iPhone with a smaller screen, but if the target group is those with iPhones 6 and up, I️ feel nitrome really loses an audience and base with this decision. My idea would be to Change the orientation of the iPhone when playing from vertical to horizontal. Congratulations to anyone who made it this far, and thanks for your time.

Overall good but.

So the game itself is awesome! While yes the enemies and level formations can get annoying at times, the game is fun. However I have a few things I would like to say and would appreciate it if you responded. 1. What does the bar that gives you helmets do? 2. Could you make it to where the helmets are like pieces of the armor and if you get enough of them you can get the armor for free. If you don’t get a helmet you want you can scrap it for gems( amount varies depending on helmet) or turn it into a different helmet for gems(again, cost varies depending on helm)3. Could you make skins a little less expensive 4. Could you make skins less expensive 5. Could you make more modes like time rush or gem mine 6. If anyone thinks this is a copy of Metroid, tell them I think their on drugs, While the suit is similar this seems like it was inspired by down well. This is not a cheap rip off! Plz respond plz! Also I just realized years later I misspelled good.

Interesting

If anyone as ever played Downwell it’s an extremely similar game but you play upwards instead of downwards. Really fun and I say more enjoyable than downwell as going down is possible in most cases while in downwell it’s extremely hard to go upwards. Some ideas: There are plenty of suits to use yet I feel as if the in game currency is useless as that is the only thing one may buy. Maybe some permanent upgrades (or gadgets that may be equipped to a suit) that may be bought, unlocked, or found. Permeant upgrades may include +1 health and so on with a max of +5 health +1 gun damage with a max of +3 +5% gem drop rate with a max of +20% (some balancing in this idea will be required) Gadget ideas Grenades: adds another attack slot that when pressed throws a grenade with a cool down of course Shield: protects against a hit with a 30 second cool down (gets hit and shield protects but is then open to being hit for the next 30 seconds) Fireball: instead of just being a spiked circle upon second jump it turns into fire and shoots fireballs periodically The gadget may have parts required to build them and those parts may be found in chest This game is extremely fun and simple, I enjoy it and recommend you download it

Softlock special

Game is pretty fun but there needs to be 2 huge fixes! 1: Controller configurations need to be options. Many times I’m in the thick of it and then the app tries to either close or minimize. It was optimized for a phone with a home button so we should be able to move things so as not to close it mid game on accident. 2: During the boss battles in stage 1:3 and 3:3, you can softlock yourself at the top of the screen with no way to get down other than letting the boss kill you. It’s extremely frustrating at 3:3 where that’s deep in the run. Remove the ledge at the top for a more pleasant boss experience.

So close.

I ran into this game expecting it to be a game where you ascend vertically with only weapons as methods of attack. I expected the game to revolve around this mechanic to make an amazing, fast paced level game but was very disappointed to find that the mechanic that the game revolves around was the sonic like jump attack. Since the game revolves around this attack, enemies are really poorly designed, often putting enemies really close to the player which creates a very frustrating combat system where you’re angrily trying to jump attack your way out of the situation since your main weapon cannot attack enemies that are right on you. The extremely small health pool also makes the player feel very little progression since you cannot get very far because, no matter what your skill level, enemies will hurt you once or twice every level. One would argue that suits fix this problem, since you can buy suits that increase your health pool, however, the amount of health that these suits give you are very little and hard to predict because apparently: [+5] health = 2 health bars? TL;DR this game CAN be good but isn’t

Decent First Impressions

*IF YOU HAVE PLAYED PAST THE SECOND WORLD, PLEASE TAKE THIS REVIEW WITH A GRAIN OF SALT* Despite my struggle, this game definitely has something intoxicating about it’s gameplay. Perhaps it’s the satisfying sounds of your weapons and crushed enemies, further motivating you to keep the combo going. The music, though forgettable, does a good job at setting the tone for the adventure ahead. Moving on, the gameplay is where most of my issues lie. For one, I think the level generation needs to be a bit more forgiving, as occasionally I’d come across situations where it’s impossible to progress without taking damage (EX: a spider over an L shaped tunnel without the Tri-Shot). Also, the button layout is kind of cramped and awkward. I’ll let this one slide, as this was probably better designed for larger screens unlike my tiny 5S model. To delve into speculation further, one thing I’ve never been able to figure out is what the little helmet bar is for. Every time I die, I see this bar filling up and giving me helmets. Why? What does this do? Gripes aside, I see a lot of potential for this game, and I hope to see more support in the future! P.S. For everyone saying this a Metroid rip-off, I don’t know what you’re smoking. Aside from a vague resemblance from the suit and the icon, this game is nothing like Metroid. If anything, I would say it’s more heavily inspired by Downwell, they both have a lot of similarities in their progression and systems.

One thing I hate

Level design that is made to damage you one were me having played the game a lot and played every level always take damage. It’s in level one two and a little in 3 3 gets a excuse it’s very hard and challenging but if you play good won’t kill you. One won’t kill you unless you get unlucky but 2 I have played and gotten hit by 4 wizards you cannot bounce to and have to take damage to kill. I will not lie I died. When I respond I immediately died by 4 wizards stacked on top in the cubes from level one. Not 5 seconds after I died I got killed before I could even get bast the bat to kill them. I had the laser and had been dealing with the stupid wizards over and over but that took the line they are bosses not strong ones but like the floating skulls they take a lot to kill and will kill you fast. But when played right they give no trouble. But when I can’t hit them at all with bounce or shooting without taking damage it is stupid and it’s the only thing wrong with the game. Get rid of all the cheap placement triple spider wall, stairs of wizard, box of wizard and I would play this game non stop I do play this game nonstop so I notice what needs changed.

Chameleon

I’ve been a fan of Nitrome many years before it came to mobile and have been a loyal player of its online games. In all my years of playing Nitrome I’ve never had an issue. Except for now. I spent a very good deal of time trying to get the chameleon armor thinking i would be able to use any color (locked or u locked). To my severe disappointment, it only allowed access to already unlocked suits. The catch was, I had none of their abilities. So I basically grounded for three hours just to get a suit that made other suits worse. Please, either make the chameleon able to copy any color, make it so we can manually change and combine color schemes, warn players about the specific abilities, give it different powers, or take it off the list. Other than that, marvelous game.

Обзор игры Tower Fortress

Tower Fortress — это игра в жанре приключения, разрабатываемая Keybol для платформы PC. Стилистика в игре, к сожалению, не определена, а выделить особенности можно следующие: инди, экшен, приключенческая игра, рогалик, достижения steam, коллекционные карточки. Вам будут доступны такие игровые режимы как «для одного игрока».

Во всем мире игра Tower Fortress распространяется по модели разовая покупка издателем Nitrome Limited. На данный момент стадия игры — запущена, а дата её выхода — 20.11.2017. Бесплатно скачать Tower Fortress, в том числе и через торрент, нельзя, поскольку игра распространяется по модели разовая покупка. Игра поддерживает русский язык.

MMO13 еще не вынес Tower Fortress оценку. Игра распространяется в магазине Steam, пользователи которого оценивают эту игру своими отзывами на 8.9 баллов из 10.
